The 4th Innovation Fair: Jiangsu - Europe International Technology Industrialization Exchange Conference, hosted by Messe Stuttgart, successfully took place from September 10th to 13th across various cities in Jiangsu Province.
This event featured keynote speeches, roundtable discussions, and parallel sessions with presentations, all centered on strengthening Sino-European cooperation, fostering high-level industrial development, and addressing key issues in Sino-European trade. Berlin Business Desk China had the privilege of participating in the conference and engaging in numerous activities.
On September 12th, Ms. Li Yiran, Chief Representative of Berlin in China, delivered a keynote speech titled "Smart - Innovative - Berlin" during the main forum. In her presentation, Ms. Li showcased Berlin's unique appeal as a city of transformation, innovation, and sustainability. She emphasized Berlin's strengths in the digital economy, artificial intelligence, scientific research, and its outstanding talent pool. Additionally, she introduced the Asiaberlin Summit 2024, a major upcoming event designed to strengthen ties between Berlin and Asian startup ecosystems, inviting Chinese entrepreneurs to join the summit and explore valuable networking opportunities.
Ms. Li Yiran also participated in a roundtable discussion on “EU-China Technological Innovation and Business Cooperation: Driving High-Level Industrial Development and Trade Prosperity.” During this session, she exchanged insights with fellow participants on the opportunities and challenges surrounding Sino-European collaboration in science, technology, and innovation (STI) and business sectors.
In addition to the speaking engagements, Berlin Business Desk China hosted a booth at the event, facilitating interactions with numerous startups and visitors. This provided an excellent opportunity to promote Berlin’s startup-friendly environment and its advantages for global entrepreneurs.
Ms. Li Yiran was also interviewed by Jiangsu TV, where she noted that China is one of Berlin's top five economic markets. She expressed her enthusiasm for the Innovation Fair as a platform to deepen her understanding of innovation and entrepreneurship in Nanjing while building stronger connections with local enterprises.
