It was a pleasure to welcome so many partners and friends of the Berlin Business Desk China to our annual reception on 21 January.
In a relaxed setting, we took the opportunity to look back on the past year, thank our network for the close cooperation and continued support, and provide a space for our partners to meet, reconnect, and get to know one another. The evening was also a great opportunity to exchange ideas and reflect on another year of close Berlin–China cooperation.
We would like to extend our special thanks to DJ Ni Bing for the outstanding musical programme of the evening and for sharing his long-standing personal and professional connection with Berlin.
Ni Bing is a leading figure and pioneer of electronic music culture in China. Since the 1990s, he has been dedicated to promoting international electronic music in China. His close ties to Berlin date back to 1999, when he first lived in the city while staying at the apartment of techno musician Mijk van Dijk. Since then, Berlin has remained a key point of reference in his career, with regular visits over many years. In 2015, he founded the record label Drum Rider GmbH in Berlin and later became an Asia-Pacific partner of Paradise Worldwide, one of the world’s largest digital music distribution companies, headquartered in Berlin.
We were particularly pleased that Ralph Boege, Managing Director of the Berlin-based digital music distribution company Paradise Worldwide, could join us and network with our Berlin in China community during his visit to Beijing. We warmly welcomed Mr Boege’s visit to Beijing, which once again reflects a notable trend we are currently observing: even though the year has only just begun, an increasing number of Berlin-based companies from the creative industries are showing strong interest in the Chinese market.
2026 will be an exciting year, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen the dialogue and collaboration between Berlin and China across multiple fields.
Finally, we would like to thank Berlin-based spirits brand Berliner Brandstifter and China Wines & Spirits (CWS) for their generous sponsorship, as well as the great Sea Strings Immersive Sound Restaurant in Beijing for providing an outstanding venue and excellent hospitality!
