🥳 "Ne neue Bude? Dit muss mit 'na richtjen Feier einjeweit werdn!"*

The Berlin Business Desk has moved into its new office, time to celebrate with friends, partners and neighbours!

On 9th July, our first organized offline event after the breakout of COVID-19!

More than 30 guests gathered in our new office in Beijing’s vibrant financial Chaoyang district in the DRC. We celebrated our new home with our Berlin community in Beijing, our partners, friends, and representatives of the German business community. Our hybrid event once again has built a bridge between Berlin and China. Hosted by Deputy Representative Li Yiran on-site in Beijing, the office’s Chief Representative,  Sabine Y.-Schmidt joined in digitally from Berlin and gave a review on 3 years of achievements of the Berlin Business Desk. Special thanks go to the German Embassy’s economic section Deputy Director Mr. Grogro and his warm words to acknowledge Berlin’s great cooperation with China in recent years, as well as to Philipp Grefer, co-founder of Fake Music Media and founder of the future festival/ think tank for music, art, and tech WISE. Based on Berlin’s partnership with Beijing, Philipp surprised our guests with a musical bridge: his special Berlin-Beijing remix, composed of music artists from both Berlin and Beijing, rounded up an evening full of Berlin-Chinese memories, talks and friendship.

We also thank our supporters for currywurst and Berliner, Berlin Brandstifter, and Feldschlösschen.

Offline events had to be suspended due to the pandemic. This marked the first start of a gradual return to physical meetings with our Berlin business community in China. We are looking forward to more events that bring businesses in Berlin and China together in future.

* We thank our Berliners in China for their support of real Berlinerisch (柏林话)!
