We sincerely express our thanks to our speakers for their contribution to the “Berlin: Zukunftsorte (Locations of the Future)” event on Oct 12, 2022.
Together we set-up a very effective format of cooperation and exchange between Berlin & China – a hybrid event at the German Centre Beijing. Thanks also for the wonderful support from the German Centre Beijing team.
We will continue to invite more experts from Berlin to share their insights to the Chinese audience and keep up the exchange between Berlin and China also during this difficult time of restricted international travel. Around our focus topic we provided insights about the initiative of the Zukunftsorte Berlin and highlighted business and investment opportunities in the German Capital.
Steffen Terberl explained the background and the meaning of the initiative Zukunftsorte. Today, 11 “Zukunftsorte” are significantly shaping the innovation landscape of Berlin – among them existing industrial parks such as Adlershof and Berlin-Buch as well as new sites like Berlin TXL - The Urban Tech Republic, which has been introduced in detail by Mrs. Gudrun Sack. Berlin TXL is one of Berlin´s most important economic and infrastructure projects for the next 20 years and will turn the old airport Berlin Tegel into an industrial and research park for urban technologies such as net-zero energy systems, environmentally friendly transportation and sustainable construction.
Furthermore, Jessica Zhang and Serkan Gocmen from JLL shared insights about the recent development of the real estate market in Germany and Berlin and introduced the project AM TACHELES in the middle of Berlin (designed by Herzog & de Meuron and partners), which perfectly represents the spirit of Berlin – creating our future on the historical heritage of Berlin.
