On February 14th and 15th, 2023, the Berlin Business Desk China took part in the AHK delegation trip "Industry Cluster Insight" to Zhuzhou in the province of Hunan.
Zhuzhou is the first business trip for the BBDC after the end of the pandemic measures in China and the start of a longer roadmap to intensify the collaboration between Berlin and South China.
As an important transport hub for southern China and due to the outstanding importance of the Chang-Zhu-Tan City Cluster (Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan), Zhuzhou is a very interesting location for German companies. More than 20 German companies took part in the AHK delegation trip to Zhuzhou. These include some of the most representative German companies such as Siemens, SAP, DB, Bosch, Kuka and Voith, as well as hidden champions such as Wieland, PEPPERL+FUCHS and BALLUFF.
Berlin already has close connections with the city of Zhuzhou, especially in the area of rail transport. The world's leading rail transportation equipment manufacturer, CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd., has set up a branch in Berlin and supplies important rail transport products to Berlin, such as the AZ locomotive for the Berlin S-Bahn network (https://crrczelc-europe.com/azlok-berlin-germany).
The BBDC has established important government contacts and introduced the business location Berlin as well as cooperation opportunities to local companies in Zhuzhou. In addition to rail transport, both cities have common interests in the fields of technical design, research and development, as well as material production and equipment manufacturing.
